Mental Health First Aid Training

Become a Certified Adult Mental Health First Aider on this

2-Day MHFA (England) Training Course

Why become a Mental Health First Aider?

Because YOU could be the difference to someone when they really need it.

Mental ill health does not discriminate and can affect anyone at any time – your work colleagues, family or friends.

There is a stigma surrounding mental ill health that with time, education, understanding and resources, will improve. Because of this, there will be many people suffering in silence.

For them, their struggle is real. Every day. Every week. Every month. Some will have been suffering for many years…. until they get the help and support they desperately need.

Some people won’t even realise they have a problem because it’s been their “normal” for as long as they can remember!

Maybe you already know someone who isn’t coping particularly well at work or in your personal life? You could be the one who makes all the difference by extending a helping hand!

The MHFA Training Course equips you with the necessary skill to spot early signs of mental health problems

    Meet your Trainer

    Hello!  I’m Andrea

As a practicing Health and Safety professional, I’ve been delivering various health and safety training courses, inductions, and workshops over the years, and it’s such a privilege to be able to offer this one.

I became a Mental Health First Aider (and licensed MHFA Trainer) in March 2019.  Since qualifying, I’ve had to use the MHFA training more than half a dozen times, and that’s more than I’ve needed to use my physical first aid training which I’ve held for over 20 years!

Even though the course materials don’t change, no two MHFA courses are the same, and it’s our delegates that make the difference – especially when they openly share their real-life experiences.

Don’t worry though, you don’t have to share anything, or can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable doing.  There’s no pressure.

You’ve probably sussed by now that I’m not a fan of talking about myself, so here’s a quick intro:

I’m the Managing Director of SHEQworx Ltd, a practicing Occupational Health and Safety Consultant to a range of businesses across the UK, and a Lead Auditor to ISO 9001 Quality, and 45001 Occupational Health & Safety standards.  I also run Nature’s Way Lifestyle Ltd with my son, Alex, but I’ll tell you more about that in a second.

In a nutshell, my life’s work has been about keeping people safe and healthy at work, and businesses legally compliant through a range of services including policies, systems and procedures.

I’ve been a single parent for the most part of the last 21 years, which has been challenging at times – legally, financially, and emotionally.  It’s also been hugely rewarding watching kiddo develop and leave to start his own life’s journey.

Since 2013 I’ve been discovering in real terms how food affects our overall health – mind, body, and soul – and the affects were astounding!  The thing is, I thought I was reasonably healthy before I changed my lifestyle.

So, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic I co-founded a new business with Alex, called Nature’s Way Lifestyle Ltd (NWL).

The purpose of NWL is to help others on the path to create a better, healthier, cleaner, and low-tox lifestyle for themselves and their families, whilst also reducing the impact on the planet.  (Check us out on Facebook and Instagram @natureswaylifestyle.)

We’re guiding and supporting people towards a happier and healthier version of themselves, and that’s pretty awesome!  Take a look, we might be able to help you too.

It’s a real passion project of ours.  I managed to get rid of my eczema, AND reduce the symptoms and severity of my anxiety and depression.  There were other benefits too but I won’t bore you with them here!  You’re welcome to find out more here.
